Q&A With Art Teacher Mrs. Kovac

Why did you choose to teach art here at Holy Trinity?

I wanted to give Holy Trinity an Art Program that would build the creative confidence of its students.

How do you come up with the Themes each year?

Each theme I come up with is based on an Art Period, Master Artist, or technique.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Everywhere I get my inspiration from music, travel, pop culture, current events, nature, textiles, fashion.

When is the art show and what can we expect to see?

You can expect to see creative individual art pieces, collaborative art pieces based off of illustrated children’s books. Students showcase their work for the year at the annual Art Show held each May.

What kind of art or art style is your favorite?

I like to focus on multiple forms of mediaI enjoy the simple art and seeing people be very creative in their work.

Art is an integral part of the curriculum; great art experiences are provided in first through fifth grades by an art professional, and Art to Grow On is provided to all grades by parent docents. Throughout the year the children work individually and in group settings to learn about famous artists of the past and present by experimenting in a variety of mediums and techniques.

The Story of an Artist

This year with Mrs. Kovac students Pre K thru 5th will engage in a journey of storytelling through Art. Students will create their narrative focusing on creative expression that is sure to delight your senses.
