Spanish at its Finest

La Clase de Español

by: Diego (Student)

Spanish at Holy Trinity School is a great experience for all students. Classes from kindergarten to fifth grade are taught by Señora Garcia. Señora Garcia teaches with pictures and always opens up the class with a welcoming song. She provides younger students with an exciting learning environment.

The current middle school Spanish teacher is Dra. Kennedy. Dra. Kennedy presents a more challenging curriculum. Currently, she is teaching the sixth graders Spanish verb forms. She teaches through stories followed by verbal questions. Both teachers excel at their work. They know how to explain concepts in detail. If the students don’t understand, they constantly asses the students’ knowledge to assure their comprehension. The teachers adjust to each student’s needs and concerns so that the environment is a great learning one.

Middle schoolers develop a higher understanding of the Spanish language through classes with Dra. Kennedy.

Students from K-8 grade took part in a great science program from the Science Education Center of California.

Student hydrologists were hired by the fictional town of New Merced in Central California to perform an independent analysis of their water crisis. As scientists, the students’ job was to analyze water from two locations along a river to determine whether the aquifer could bring the water to standards suitable for domestic and agricultural use. They built models of an aquafier and used it to make recommendations to the City Council.
