BUMP, SET, SPIKE FOR THE WIN

Girls Varsity Volleyball

Written By: Alessandra 8-1

The girls on the Varsity Volleyball team are in seventh and eighth grade. At practice the girls work on hitting, serving, passing, and scrimmages. Brooke Lane is the girls’ coach and she demonstrates different plays and techniques to get them better at volleyball. Serving and passing are two important skills that help the team score in the games.  On the court the biggest thing to remember is to be confident, be loud, and to always have a good attitude. In Georgie Smith’s words, “The meaning of volleyball is a game where you pass, set, hit, and serve to score points. All of the HT volleyball players work really hard and put effort into every point.” Matches last from the best out of three sets. 25 points have to be scored in the first two matches, and in the last match only 15 points must be scored to win. The volleyball season is only two months, not including the playoffs, and we are proud of the way the volleyball team has done this year.
